Munich-based recorder player Stefan Temmingh, born 1978 in Cape Town, belongs to the young generation of world-class recorder players. His debut CD "Corelli à la mode" (together with harpsichordist Olga Watts) was highly praised by the international press in 2009. Since then, Stefan is regularly compared to the legendary Frans Brüggen. With an impressive stage presence, the assertiveness of his playing and uniquely individual musical concepts he creates interpretations which one would never have believed possible on a recorder. In his solo concerts in various ensemble sizes and recordings both of Early and New Music he effortlessly surpasses the usual recorder stereotypes.
